This conference will provide the participants with the current trends of the CEE chemical and petrochemical industry, the latest stage of its development, business opportunities and conditions for expected future growth. With ongoing consolidation and unfinished privatization still having a large influence on market developments, players are at the same time fully engaged in increasing their production capacity. New (supra)regional growth strategies are being found focusing on niche markets in the highly developed countries and simultaneous expansion towards the SEE region.
Meanwhile CEE producers find themselves competing more and more with their major global rivals and new competitors from the MRIC countries in fulfilling the still growing consumption demand throughout the CEE region. Next to that analysts predict a period of declining economic growth in the CEE region, making the challenge to maintain profitability even stronger. Chemical and petrochemical groups with strong international presence are feeling need to respond by revising their business strategies and/or optimizing their operating efficiency to be able to compete in a rapidly maturing market.
Against the background of these current challenges, chemical and petrochemical companies are revising their strategies and are trying to create (cross regional) alliances in order to keep their market value at a high level and be ready at all times to serve existing and future clients.
