********************************************************************* CALL FOR PAPERS 9th International Conference on Distributed Computing and Networking (ICDCN 2008) January 5-8, 2008 Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India http://www.icdcn.org ********************************************************************* The 9th International Conference on Distributed Computing and Networking, ICDCN 2008, will be held at Jadavpur University, Kolkata, India, during January 5-8, 2008. Over the years, ICDCN (formerly known as IWDC) has become a leading forum for disseminating the latest research results in distributed computing and networks. Jadavpur University (http://www.jadavpur.edu), which hosts ICDCN 2008, is one of the premier universities in India with faculties in Arts, Sciences, Engineering and Technology, and is located in the historic and glorious city of Kolkata, where tradition and modernity blend in harmony. SCOPE: ----- Technical papers describing original, previously unpublished results are solicited in all areas of theory and practice of distributed systems and networking. ICDCN 2008 will be organized in two tracks - Distributed Computing and Networking. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to: Distributed Computing Track: 1. Communication and Synchronization Protocols 2. Distributed Algorithms and Architectures, their Analysis and Complexity 3. Distributed Operating Systems, Middleware, Databases 4. Experiments and Performance Measurements in Distributed Systems 5. Fault-tolerance and Self-stabilization 6. High Performance, Cluster and Grid Computing 7. Mutiprocessor and Multicore Architectures and Algorithms 8. Security in Distributed Systems 9. Shared and Transactional Memory, Concurrent Programming 10. Specification and Verification of Distributed Systems Networking Track: 1. Wireless Networks - Cellular, Ad hoc, Wireless LANs 2. Sensor Networks 3. Mobile, Pervasive and Autonomic Computing 4. Optical, Overlay and Peer-to-Peer Networks 5. Integration of Heterogeneous Wireless and Wireline Networks 6. Internetworking Protocols and Internet Applications 7. Network Reliability, Security and Privacy 8. Resource Management and Quality of Service 9. Performance Modeling and Evaluation 10. Traffic Engineering, Pricing, Capacity Planning and Network Management PAPER SUBMISSION: ---------------- A submission should report on original research that did not previously appear in a journal or a conference proceedings and has not been concurrently submitted to any other conference or journal. Papers should not exceed twelve single-spaced pages using at least 11-point font and one inch margins on all sides on A4/Letter size pages, including references, figures, tables etc. All papers must be submitted electronically through the submissions link in the conference website.
