Welcome to the First International Conference on Economic and Management Perspectives organized by International Economic Society. This major international event will be held in Famagusta, North Cyprus from October 16-19, 2008. The conference will be held at Salamis Bay Hotel Congress Center. The conference will address a range of important topics. The conference will include numerous papers by academics and researchers from around the globe. The thematic contributions of this conference will be on new perspectives and developments in the fields of economics and management. Thus, this will provide opportunity to present and share papers with other colleagues from different countries. Conference participants are welcome to submit abstracts in the initial stage and full papers once their abstracts are accepted. All conference papers will be published in e-proceedings. On the other hand, full papers will undergo a peer review process and will be evaluated by a team of referees to be published in Conference Proceedings. Furthermore, papers accepted for Conference Proceedings will be considered for publication in the regular issues of International Journal of Economic Perspectives which is published by International Economic Society.

The conference is going to be a scientific gathering where researchers and educators from different corners of the world are going to exchange their experience and ideas in the impressive atmosphere of the island of Cyprus, home of numerous cultures, communities, languages and scientific disciplines. One of the main objectives of this gathering is to create a synergy for potential cooperation among academic people studying and researching in the field of educational sciences. The conference is organized and hosted by the Department of Educational Sciences of the Eastern Mediterranean University which has successfully organized several international conferences since the academic year 2001-2002.
