This workshop will focus on the main aspects of the development of Multimedia and Collaborative Virtual Environments (MCVEs). The concept of MCVEs is related to the integrated presentation of synchronized Multimedia objects (such as video, audio, images, etc.) within Collaborative Virtual Environments. Multimedia and Hypermedia information enrich user´s perception and immersion in a Virtual Environment. Besides, Collaborative activities inside Multimedia Virtual Environments also captivate interest and increase the motivation and productivity of the user since he is able to communicate exchanging multimedia information and work jointly with geographically dispersed participants in real-time. The current development of MCVEs is a research challenge and represents a promising and interesting trend for the design of virtual interactive environments in different areas such as education, e-science, health, e-commerce, etc.
The goal of this workshop is to discuss key concepts, theoretical frameworks and technical approaches, challenges, innovative solutions, and open issues on the development of MCVEs. We invite researchers and designers to submit original Interdisciplinary and multi-disciplinary technical contributions and position papers to explore and interchange new solutions for the development of integrated multimedia and collaborative virtual environments.

The Third International Conference on Computer Vision Theory and Applications (VISAPP) aims at becoming a major
point of contact between research scientists, engineers and practitioners on the area of computer vision
applications systems. Four simultaneous tracks will be held, covering all different aspects related to computer
vision, from Image Formation to Image Understanding including Motion Analysis and Stereo Vision.
Papers describing advanced prototypes, systems, tools and techniques and general survey papers indicating future
directions are also encouraged.
Papers describing original work are invited in any of the areas listed below. Accepted papers, presented at the
conference by one of the authors, will be published in the Proceedings of VISAPP. Acceptance will be based on
quality, relevance and originality. There will be both oral and poster sessions.
Special sessions, dedicated to case-studies and commercial presentations, as well as technical tutorials, dedicated
to technical/scientific topics, are also envisaged: companies interested in presenting their products/methodologies
or researchers interested in lecturing a tutorial are invited to contact the conference secretariat.
CONFERENCE AREAS
Each of these topic areas is expanded below. Papers should address one or more of the listed topics, although
authors should not feel limited by them. Unlisted but related topics are also allowed.
1. Image Formation and Processing
2. Image Analysis
3. Image Understanding
4. Motion, Tracking and Stereo Vision

The purpose of the International Joint Conference on Computer Vision and Computer Graphics Theory and Applications is to bring together researchers and
practitioners, including research scientists, engineers and practitioners on the areas of computer vision and computer graphics, interested in both
theoretical advances and applications in these fields. Computer Vision and Computer Graphics are knowledge areas that are becoming more and more
interrelated, with important interdisciplinary work often being the result of an iterative combined process of image analysis and synthesis with models
created in one of the fields being used to improve models created in the other.
The VISIGRAPP component conferences are specialized in the following topics:
- GRAPP is structured along four main tracks, covering different aspects related to Computer Graphics, from Modelling to Rendering, including Animation and
Interactive Environments.
- VISAPP has also four main tracks, namely: Image Formation and Processing, Image Analysis, Image Understanding and Motion, Tracking and Stereo Vision.

SCOPE
The Third International Conference on Computer Graphics Theory and Applications (GRAPP) aims at becoming a major point of contact between researchers,
engineers and practitioners in Computer Graphics. We have chosen Interactive Environments for Computer Graphics as the main topic. Indeed, games and virtual
environments currently dominate both research and practice in our field. The conference will be structured along four main tracks, covering different aspects
related to Computer Graphics, from Modeling to Rendering, including Animation and Interactive Environments.
We welcome papers describing original work in any of the areas listed below. Accepted papers, presented at the conference by one of the authors, will be
published in the Conference Proceedings. Papers describing advanced prototypes, systems, tools and techniques as well as general survey papers indicating
future directions are also encouraged. Paper acceptance will be based on quality, relevance to the conference themes and originality.
The conference program will include both oral and poster presentations. Special sessions, dedicated to case-studies and commercial presentations, as well as
technical tutorials, dedicated to technical/scientific topics, are also envisaged. Companies interested in presenting their products/methodologies or
researchers interested in lecturing a tutorial are invited to contact the conference secretariat.
