CollECTeR 2007 - 10th Anniversary
Collaborative Electronic Commerce Technology and Research
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Call for Papers
The 2007 CollECTeR Conference on Electronic Commerce in Australia will be held from December 9-11, at the Langham Hotel in Melbourne, in association with:
the 5th International Supply Chain Management and I.S. Conference (SCMIS)
the 2007 Australian Conference for KM and Intelligent Decision Support (ACKMIDS)
The 2007 CollECTeR Conference is designed to be an interactive experience – an expert discussant will be assigned to each paper who will be asked firstly to respond directly to the paper, then to facilitate broad-ranging and extensive discussion. In the workshop spirit, ample time will be made available to allow for a full exploration of the ideas contained within – and the implications of – each paper and, where appropriate, for discussion on methodological issues arising from the research. As a consequence, research supervisors may feel that this workshop is a particularly useful venue for papers arising from doctoral/post-graduate research projects.
The Programme Committee actively seeks papers describing novel, radical and, indeed, controversial ideas – papers may describe either competed research or work in progress. Researchers are encouraged to submit either “work in progress” papers (around 3,000 words), or full papers on completed research (around 5,000 words). Papers should be original and not previously published. All papers will be double-blind-reviewed by two members of the Programme Committee, experienced researchers with extensive expertise in the area.
Accepted papers will be published in the Proceedings which will be available, in CD-ROM format, at the Conference itself; and from the CollECTeR web site. Additional copies of the Proceedings on CD-ROM will also be available for purchase. Authors will be required to transfer a non-exclusive right to publish the paper within the conference proceedings (in CD-ROM, WWW and paper formats) but this does not preclude the authors from later publication of the paper elsewhere.
The highlighted topic area for CollECTeR 2007 is “E-Enterprise Integration” and suggested topics for papers include (but are not restricted to):
Integrating E-Business into the organisation
Effective E-Government Service Delivery
Mobile applications for the Real World
E-CRM
Value creation for the E-Enterprise
Integrating RFID into the Business
Security and Privacy in the E-Enterprise
Integrated Electronic Markets
Using Electronic Documents to enable the E-Enterprise
and other topics relevant to the workshop theme ...

One possibility is for them to seek refuge in the realm of the Aesopic. Aesop is said to have written fables in the sixth Century B.C. to veil his opinions, and writers 26 Centuries later continue to use and develop his method. In symbolic and coded terms, they write fairy tales and fables, and employ myths and elements of folklore. New forms of discourse emerged, where political realities and social truths were referred to in symbolic and coded terms rather than explicitly mentioned, and where, concurrently, these realities and truths were re-framed and re-contextualized. Protest and subversion found a new voice.
The paths to the Aesopic were varied and open. Authors could write new fairy tales and fables, or rewrite old ones; they could retell old folktales or traditional stories and relate them to the present situation; elements of old tales could be merged with modern counterparts in narrative art forms; traditional symbols or figures could feature in otherwise thoroughly contemporary writing, storytelling and artistic practice.
We invite papers about this Aesopic form of discourse in the twentieth century all around the world (see link 'Call for Papers' on conference website).

There is no “one size fits all” contract for delivering large scale and complex projects. Project development and management professionals know that it is crucial to select the right contract from a suite of varying contract models. The key to an effective contract strategy is getting back to basics, determining what you want from a project and developing the best contract to maximise its successful delivery.
